Dr Tash

GP Specialist

Providing patient and family-centered medicine is Dr Tash’s passion. Tash enjoys progressive general practice where mind-body health is the foundation of care provided. The central role of the GP inspires her to be an accessible, equitable, and high-quality provider of both physical and mental health. Tash explores her patient's health journey, concerns, experiences and expectations.  Tash works closely with patients to provide individualised multidisciplinary care and interprofessional collaboration for appropriate and sensitive management with close follow-up to ensure safe, holistic, evidence-based medicine integrated into routine general practice and specialist medical care.

Through quality general practice, Tash’s patients receive comprehensive care encompassing mental and physical health needs, avoiding a distinction between mind and body systems. A holistic, whole-of-person approach informs the assessment and treatment of physical and cognitive concerns. Specifically, Tash manages mental illness using a stepped-care approach to ensure patients receive the appropriate level of care depending on the complexity of their needs.

Raised in Townsville and having lived and worked amongst Australia's capital cities, regional and rural areas, Tash has a long history of bridging gaps between individuals, communities and institutions, providing holistic health care to adults, children, and people of all backgrounds, including lower socioeconomic status, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, people from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds and those impacted by trauma. Tash provides equitable and neurodivergent affirming care. Specific areas of interest include mental health, trauma, addiction medicine, rural and emergency medicine, chronic disease (including diabetes, obesity, heart disease, and metabolic syndrome),  paediatric medicine, women’s health across the lifespan, including contraception and family planning and menopause,  newborn health, and men’s health.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Tash is a dedicated fitness enthusiast. You can often find her in the local group fitness room, yoga studio, or pool, pursuing her previous fantasy of being a triathlete. Her favorite pastime is spending time on Darwin’s beautiful coastline with her family, including her two kids and her beloved arthritic Labrador cross Bullmastiff, Frankie.

Tash is studying General Practice psychological interventions and is a member of RACGP, The Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine and the Australian Society for Psychological Medicine. Higher education qualifications include Bachelor of Nursing Science (Honours), Post-Graduate Intensive Care Nursing, Post-Graduate Sexual Health and Reproduction; Hyperbaric Nursing, Master’s in Nursing (Nurse Practitioner), Doctor of Medicine; ACEM Certificate in Emergency Medicine; RACGP Rural Generalist candidate in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine.
