Dr Lise

Dr. Lise is a dedicated family physician (GP) with over 13 years of experience, bringing a friendly and knowledgeable approach to patient care at VMG Clinic. A Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, she is passionate about building long-term relationships with her patients and their families. Whether you are new to Darwin or a long-time local, Dr. Lise understands the challenges of navigating the healthcare system and is committed to helping her patients feel empowered and informed about their health through clear explanations and personalised, evidence-based care.

Dr. Lise has a particular interest in women’s health, providing comprehensive care across all life stages—from contraception and pre-conception advice to pregnancy care, menopause management, and beyond. She offers IUD insertion and removal (Mirena, Kyleena, and copper), Implanon insertion and removal, contraceptive counselling, pre-conception planning, pregnancy management, six-week postnatal and newborn checks, and hormone replacement therapy (HRT) for perimenopause and menopause support.

As part of her women’s health services, Dr. Lise also provides GP Shared Care for low-risk pregnancies. This collaborative model allows patients to receive most of their antenatal care at VMG Clinic with a familiar GP who understands their medical history, while remaining connected with the hospital’s obstetric team for key visits around 17 weeks and 36 weeks. The hospital manages labour, delivery, and immediate postnatal care, after which Dr. Lise resumes care for both mother and baby, ensuring continuity and a smooth transition back into community-based care.

Beyond women’s health, Dr. Lise offers holistic family medicine for patients of all ages—from routine check-ups and preventive health to chronic disease management. She welcomes children and adolescents, provides support for workers’ compensation claims, and manages conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and arthritis.

Originally from Canada, Dr. Lise traded snowy winters for Darwin’s sunshine in 2014. A busy mum herself, she understands the unique needs of families and brings warmth and compassion to every consultation. “Getting to know my patients and their families is incredibly rewarding,” says Dr. Lise. “It allows me to provide truly personalised care that fits their individual needs.”
